What To Expect

Shamanism is a practice as old as humanity itself. Drawing on the guidance and wisdom of ancestors and compassionate beings in the ‘Otherworlds’, great healing can occur, ancestral patterns can be broken and the heart can open more fully to the wonderment that is life.

During the session I may drum, whistle and use a bell. I often burn herbs and incense, or use essential oils. However we can do without this if you are very sensitive.

Cost
Sessions cost £100 and may last around 2.5 hours. Aftercare and diagnostic work is included. If this amount is a problem, please get in touch. Please be aware, a 24 cancellation notice applies. Skype sessions cost £75, payable in full 24 hours in advance and non-refundable after this.

Cancellation

Please give me as much notice as possible if you cannot make the session. And do let me know on the day if you are running later or experiencing travel difficulties. Thank you.

What to bring

We may do some work outside so wellies/sturdy footwear is a good idea. Dress appropriately for the season, lots of layers in winter!

Four pointers

1. The Spirits do the healing – my physical body is simply the ‘conductor’. Every aspect of our session will be Spirit led; the Spirits show what healing is required at the given time. I will be in constant dialogue with them, which usually leads to some nice surprises!

2. Miracles can and do occur, but you may find the effects to be quite subtle or gradual. I am always keen to hear about your journey, two to three weeks after our session.

3. Turbulence warning: the term ‘healing crisis’ refers to the phenomenon of our physical bodies throwing up unpleasant symptoms, or awakening old problems, in response to our restoration of strength. Also, with Shamanic Healing, changes are made to the overall energy template of your life. For example, family energies can shift, people can become discomfited and behave accordingly. Please keep in mind that as your power is restored, as lost parts of you are recovered, you are going from strength to strength. Progress is happening! I am on hand to offer support at this time.

4. It’s a good idea to tell at least one person of the commitment you are making to your own healing. In many Shamanic communities the whole village is involved in one person’s healing. The more support the better. For this reason, if you’d like to bring someone (who is totally supportive of your healing path) to your session, you are very welcome.

Preparation

A week before
Having sought Spirit guidance, I will often get in touch about a week before your session to give you some preparatory tasks.

The night before
It’s a good idea to set a strong dream intention the night before you come – ‘that I may be fully open to the healing tomorrow, and feel it in every aspect of my being.’

Generally, meditate or pray if this is your usual practice. Or simply try dropping into your heart space and resting there a while.

On the day

Thank you in advance for arriving on time.

Allow up to three and a half hours for the session. It’s often less, the Spirits decide….

Afterwards

This is called the ‘integration period’ and I am available on email for two or three weeks. I would really like to hear how you are getting on around the two week mark.

It takes the physical body time to ‘catch up’ with the energetic changes which have occurred. During integration you can help embed healing by:

•    Being in nature
•    Dancing – 5 Rhythms dancing is one way, but dance however you like
•    Writing or making art
•    Finding solitude

Above all, pay close attention to your needs and honour them as much as possible.

If the Spirits set you some ‘homework’, try and make this a priority.

Blessed be!
